When you donate to The Metropolitan Orchestra, you ARE donating to build and support a stronger Australian arts sector. We need your support to keep up this fight to continue supporting our magnificent homegrown talent and also to help us continue to navigate the challenges caused by Covid.
After a silent year, we have risen from the challenges of the Covid Pandemic in 2020 with confidence like never before. 2021 was shaping to become one of our biggest and most exciting years ever with a return to the stage of our Met Concerts, Chamber Concerts and Cushion Concerts.
We have been working closely with some very brave promoters to deliver several fantastic large-scale events and national tours reaching large audiences of more than 5000 people.
This year we also launched the first of many new future educational initiatives – TMO’s Junior Winter String Camp. This three-day orchestral training camp designed to give kids a fun, fabulous and educational launch pad into the orchestral performance arena as we build the next generation of musicians and continue our support of the incredible depth of musical talent in this country.
COVID Continues To Cause Concern
Unfortunately with the recent lock-down and tightened restrictions applied by the NSW Government, TMO has had to postpone a number of events in addition to cancelling our 3rd Met Concert – String Serenade. Each of these events requires a huge amount of time and effort to bring together, meaning that each cancellation is not only financially costly, they also take a significant toll on our passionate and hardworking team.
** All Donations Over $2.00 Are Tax-Deductible! **
Now more than ever, we need the continued commitment and passion of our supporters and lovers of exceptional music. We do not take it for granted that we have been able to get back on the stage sharing fantastic music with you. And we will not let the current Covid challenges dampen our enthusiasm to end 2021 with some outstanding live performances.
We are already planning in order to build momentum going into 2022 and beyond to keep giving our young people, musicians, and our loved audience as many musical opportunities as possible. With your help, we will not only rise above Covid, but continue on our mission to bring you exceptional first-class programs, at accessible ticket price points, from a range of friendly venues.
