TwoSet Violin

Sacrilegious Games World Tour

Event Date: Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 June 8pm
Venue: Sydney Opera House Concert Hall

Global classical music phenomena TwoSet Violin – aka Australian violinists Brett Yang and Eddy Chen – return to the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall for two performances on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 June as part of their Sacrilegious Games World Tour.

Following their sold-out Opera House concert in 2024, the wildly popular and irreverent duo will perform with Sydney-based The Metropolitan Orchestra, conducted by Sarah-Grace Williams, in two high-energy, virtuosic performances that playfully challenge tradition with their signature razor-sharp wit and infectious stage presence.

TwoSet Violin said: “We’ve been practicing 40 hours a day for this moment! Returning to Australia to take over the Sydney Opera House feels surreal, and we’re bringing our biggest concert yet. Expect plenty of laughs, music, and a celebration of everything we love about classical music in the digital world. Get ready for the Sacrilegious Games!”

Rising to global prominence through their YouTube channel, TwoSet Violin have built a massive following across social platforms, with more than 1.5 billion views worldwide. After giving up their spots in the Sydney and Queensland Symphony Orchestras in 2016 and embarking on the first-ever crowd-funded classical world tour in 2017, Yang and Chen have revolutionised the presentation of classical music, gaining fans around the globe while collaborating with internationally acclaimed soloists such as Lang Lang, Hilary Hahn, Janine Jansen, James Ehne and Maxim Vengerov. Known for their viral musical challenges, candid embrace of “imperfection” and deep respect for the artform, Yang and Chen have become powerful ambassadors for classical music in the digital age.

Sydney Opera House Director of Programming, Brenna Hobson, said: “TwoSet Violin breakdown barriers as part of a new generation of classical artists. Combining extraordinary musicianship with humour, accessibility and cultural relevance, their work reflects exactly the kind of bold innovation we champion at the Sydney Opera House. Joyful, fearless and deeply musical, TwoSet Violin’s return to the Concert Hall with the esteemed The Metropolitan Orchestra, conducted by Sarah-Grace Williams, redefine what a classical concert can be.”
