The Metropolitan Orchestra’s season finale bursts onto the stage with irresistible dance rhythms and late-Romantic splendour. The sultry sway of Márquez’s Danzón No. 2 sets the stage with emotional expression before the performance moves into the glittering waltzes and gallops of Khachaturian’s Masquerade Suite. To close the third and final Met Concert for 2026, Rachmaninoff’s magnificent Symphonic Dances sweeps the orchestra and audience from haunting nostalgia to exultant triumph in what will be a fitting finale to The Metropolitan Orcehstra’s incredible 18th year of spectacular music, and TMO’s first at the Verbrugghen in Sydney.
