The Metropolitan Orchestra’s (TMO) last Met concert of 2025 at Marrickville Town Hall features a spectacular selection of three classic musical masterpieces. Led by Chief Conductor Sarah-Grace Williams, this powerhouse performance features music by Saint-Saens, Tchaikovsky, and Dvorak to see out the last day of Winter and prepare for a fresh Spring.
The afternoon performance starts with the famous tone poem from Saint-Saens, his Danse Macabre. Following this is Tchaikovsky’s own romantic Romeo and Juliet Overture where love and violence share the stage in a powerful musical rendition of the classic Shakespearean story.
Following a brief intermission will be Dvorak’s masterwork Eighth Symphony. This euphoric symphony sets the scene for the positive warmer spring months ahead to present a bright and fitting end to The Metropolitan Orchestra’s amazing 17th concert season.
