The 2024 Inner West Chamber Music Festival kicks off with a BANG this year with The Metropolitan Orchestra’s (TMO) Percussion section making their chamber concert debut! Prepare yourself for a powerful and captivating showcase featuring only percussion instruments. Maybe you’ve been craving the sound of thunderous drums being played, or intrigued by the differences between a xylophone and a glockenspiel, or just wanted to lay eyes on a colossal 5 octave marimba stretching over 2 metres long! The TMO Percussion section will satisfy all your musical curiosities.
From timeless classics by J.S. Bach and Vittorio Monti to modern compositions by Steve Reich and Matthew Curley, our concert will take you on a unique and thrilling musical journey.
This opening performance of the second-ever Inner West Chamber Music Festival will set a cracking pace for a series of four exciting and unique chamber concerts over one big weekend!
The Inner West Chamber Music Festival is presented as part of Inner West Council’s Live Music Activation program.
- This is a FREE event however, each attendee will require a valid General Admission ticket to access the performance.
- Ticketing will be limited to 2 tickets per transaction.
- There will be no interval for this performance.
