The sultry sway of Márquez’s Danzón No. 2 sets the stage with emotional expression before the performance moves into the glittering waltzes and gallops of Khachaturian’s Masquerade Suite. To close the third and final Met Concert for 2026\, Rachmaninoff’s magnificent Symphonic Dances sweeps the orchestra and audience from haunting nostalgia to exultant triumph in what will be a fitting finale to The Metropolitan Orcehstra’s incredible 18th year of spectacular music\, and TMO’s first at the Verbrugghen in Sydney. \nProudly supported by Inner West Council.  \n\n

DESCRIPTION:The Metropolitan Orchestra’s TMO Junior String Camp is an exciting holiday orchestral training program for young musicians (7-14 years)\, playing at an AMEB Grade 2 standard or above. TMO Juniors will experience 3 days of orchestral rehearsals and tutorials with tutors from The Metropolitan Orchestra\, working towards a performance on the final day. Led by TMO’s Artistic Director Sarah-Grace Williams and TMO’s incredible string educators\, this experience will be enriching\, exciting\, nurturing\, lots of fun\, and importantly\, memory-making! In addition to outstanding music tuition\, students will take part in daily yoga classes and team-building activities.
