In this exciting evening of music, The Metropolitan Orchestra (TMO) will turn the spotlight on themselves with an incredible variety of much loved orchestral works to highlight the diversity and wonder of outstanding classical music.
Led by charismatic Chief Conductor and Artistic Director Sarah-Grace Williams, this not-to-be-missed event will herald the start of an exciting new beginning for TMO’s acclaimed Met Series as the orchestra moves toward its 15th year of music making.
This evening begins with Dvorak’s lively Carnival Overture to set a scene of bright and joyous music. Mendelssohn’s symphony number 4 “Italian” will continue the bright motif while taking the audience on a fantastic Italian musical tour. The energised night of music comes to a formidable finale with Tchaikovsky’s epic journey through fate and destiny, with his commanding Fourth Symphony.
