One of Australia’s most acclaimed and recognised pianists, Tamara-Anna Cislowska will feature as soloist for Shostakovich’s uncharacteristically cheerful Piano Concerto no. 2 in this feverish evening of all-Russian music. Cislowska has performed internationally across five continents with some of the world’s leading orchestras and tonight appears for the first time under conductor Williams with TMO. Rachmaninoff’s exuberant Symphonic Dances was the composer’s final work and considered a reflection of his life and longing for his homeland. This conquering work will finalise a formidable evening of music.
